I thought my holiday would be good but I was unprepared for how brilliant I would feel by the end of the week evening standard
"Thank you all so very much for your energy, expertise and inspiration"
The New York Times doesn't call Bodrum the St Tropez of Turkey for nothing…
Along with its secluded bays, hidden coves and historic treasures, Bodrum also offers all the delights of a world-class resort from designer shopping and authentic handicrafts to golf, scuba diving and outstanding sailing, not to mention fine dining and world-class nightlife. For some culture and historic interest, it's well worth a visit to The Bodrum Museum of Underwater Archaeology in The Bodrum Castle of The Knights of St. John (marina and castle pictured above).
So you are really spoiled for choice, with the best of both worlds – get away from it all and get into the thick of things… In Bodrum, be as secluded or sophisticated as suits your mood…
For those looking for the epitomy of luxury and style (with prices to match), consider the exceptional Mandarin Oriental Bodrum or the Aman Resort of Amanruya. For other recommendations on Turkey's beautiful south coast, please see:

Seasons and climate
Comfortable year-round climate. Spring and autumn (from March to May and September to November respectively) have mild to warm days and cool nights. The summer months from June to August have warm to hot days and pleasant evenings. Winter runs from December to February and the days are crisp and evenings can be cold.
The year-round temperature range is 6°C to 15°C (January), 11°C to 21°C (April), 22°C to 34°C (July), 15°C to 27°C (October).
UK passport holders need to purchase a visa on arrival (€20 per person) prior to proceeding through customs. You will also need to have at least 6 months left on your passport.
The flight time from the UK is under 4 hours when flying direct during the main season (late Spring to early Autumn). During the off season, flights go via Istanbul and take just over 6 hours.
You can fly low cost direct to Bodrum or fly to Izmir direct with BA followed by a 2.5hrs transfer. We reckon it's worth flying low cost direct to Bodrum in order to avoid the 2.5hr transfer from Izmir. But it's up to you!
If you want to combine your trip with a couple of nights in Istanbul, it's just over an hour's flying time from Bodrum to Istanbul.
