Within a short drive from practically anywhere in the Algarve you can tee off on any number of outstanding golf courses, created by top architects and designers.

With 34 Algarve golf courses to choose from, you will have plenty of choice and variety and paired with the fantastic scenery, you will be in golfing paradise.  If you're travelling with your family, we would recommend staying at Pine Cliffs which has its own 9 hole courseand a a golf academy.  If not, here are some suggested courses for you to try out:

Opened in 2003, the Golf do Morgado course (pictured above) is a challenging Par 73, 18-hole golf course situated in Portimão. Features include large greens and deep, demanding bunkers.

Located beside its sister course, the Morgado, the Golf dos Alamos course is located in beautiful, unspoilt countryside. The Par 71 course provides a delightful variety of holes, as well as tight fairways and greens with testing slopes. This is a great course to catch views of the Monchique Mountains.

Situated between Portimão and the sea, the Pestana Alto Golf Course has great sea views. Founded in 1991 and designed by the great Sir Henry Cotton, the Par 70 course is challenging to a player's ability with strategic bunkers, dog-legs and well placed trees.

The Pestana Silves course is set around spectacular mountain and valley views overlooking palm trees and olive groves. However, the Par 70 course is anything but a walk in the park, with attacking play the key to success.

The Pestana Gramacho Golf Course was founded in 1991 and is a formidable opponent for most golfers as this Par 72 is scattered with many different trees, restricting the views of the golfer.

The Pestana Vale da Pinta Par 71 golf course was founded in 1992 by Ronald Fream and was the host to the Seniors Tours for five consecutive years. This championship course is lined with many types of trees, one even dating back 1200 years!
