Playitas on the Canary island of Fuerteventura is a highly regarded destination for road biking enthusiasts.
The modern bike centre at Playitas has more than 200 top brand bikes and the latest models on the market in a range of sizes so you don’t need to travel with your bike. Bike rental is from €136 per week for Giant or Orbea cycles, up to €270 per week for top of the range bikes. Daily hire rates are from €25.
Group rides are organised from Playitas two or three times every week. These tend to be either 40km or 80km rides. The bike centre staff are very proficient and will be delighted to give you advice about rides and tell you about their own experience in Fuerteventura.
There are maps and route guides available from the bike centre. The longest single route is 180km. There are several hill climbs available (up to around 600m) with a maximum gradient of 18%.
