The best option in Oman for those who love watersports is Zighy Bay, located on over a mile of sandy beach. It offers a selection of watersports to keep everyone entertained.
Apart from snorkelling and diving, guests can enjoy kayaking, water skiing and wake boarding. And, if you’re still after more water-borne entertainment, there’s even yacht charter opportunities at Zighy Bay
The sea in the Gulf is warm all year round. The best time to visit Oman is between November and early April, when the cooler air brings the mountain scenery sharply into focus and daytime temperatures average 27°C. For the rest of the year, much of Oman is hot and hazy, particularly between May and August when 40°C is not unheard of – and the sea is particularly warm too!
On the coast of Muscat, the Shangri-La offers a full range of motorised and non-motorised water sports from Al Waha beach. Sports include banana boat rides, waterskiing, wake boarding, wake surfing, wind surfing, guided jet ski tours and hydro-sports, including flyboarding and jet pack experiences! There’s also Hobie Cat sailing and glass bottomed kayaks to rent as well as diving and dolphin watching excursions.
