I thought my holiday would be good but I was unprepared for how brilliant I would feel by the end of the week evening standard
"Thank you all so very much for your energy, expertise and inspiration"
A luxurious hotel perched on a cliff top in a secluded location (approx 15 minutes drive from Bodrum) and just a short walk down to a gorgeous private sandy beach. Enjoy the water sports on offer, take a private cruise aboard a gullet or retreat to the fabulous spa.
Each of the 148 good sized guest rooms have wonderful sea views with balconies or terraces overlooking the hotel’s private bay. All have en-suite bathrooms, air-conditioning and free Wi-Fi and are decorated in calm, neutral tones.
Barbaros Bay is a Kempinski hotel with excellent service, hospitality and a legendary spa. The whole experience makes this a fantastic place to unwind and get away from the stress of everyday life. It has a lot of public space, which gives it a certain privacy and intimacy as compared to larger hotels - there are never too many people anywhere, at breakfast or down at the beach. This creates a very relaxing atmosphere.
The spa is an enticing sanctuary where you can relax and rejuvenate with treatments based on a Far Eastern approach to holistic wellness. In between treatments (and there are lots to choose from) you can enjoy the spectacular views from the comfort of your sun lounger, take a steam in a traditional Turkish hammam or take a dip in the largest infinity pool in the region. We love the fact that all the parasols shading the sun loungers have their own "service" button, so a refreshing fresh juice (or something more wicked) is just moments away.
The hotel has several restaurants so whether you fancy a gourmet dinner or a healthy snack at lunchtime, the hotel has a variety of bars and restaurants to choose from, including the Barbarossa Grill down on the beach.

The flight time from the UK is a little over 3 hours. You can fly low cost direct to Bodrum or fly to Izmir direct with BA followed by a 2.5hrs transfer. We reckon it's worth flying low cost direct to Bodrum in order to avoid the 2.5hr transfer from Izmir. But it's up to you! If you would like to visit Istanbul during your trip, it's a quick one hour flight from Bodrum to Istanbul.
All visitors to Turkey are required to purchase a visa ($20) in advance of arrival, and passports must have at least 6 months till expiry. See: https://www.evisa.gov.tr/en/
