The Swedish owners, Mikael and Johanna Landstrom, have renovated a tired old1950s hotel and have magically created a vibrant, stylish and funky new base in Mallorca’s most scenic seaside town, occupying the best position in the middle of the bay. It’s just what popular Puerto Soller has been crying out for. However, we would rank it as 4 star at best.
Most of the bright, comfy and airy rooms look out to sea and, best of all, most have terraces or balconies with stunning views across the pretty horseshoe bay. The perfect place to watch the sunset and you’re so close to the sea that you can hear the waves lapping below. With a spa, a colourful bistro-restaurant, a stylish lounge-bar that would not look out of place in any hip city hotel, and a fabulous rooftop pool area.
There’s a good selection of rooms and suites spread over 4 floors; all with different configurations. Simple, Scandinavian chic is the unifying theme, with splashes of bold wallpaper, plump sofas, and white walls perfectly suited to that special light that you only get right by the sea. It’s bright, fun and very retro-chic.
