bahamas

bahamas caribbean

The Bahamas is a scattering of more than 700 low-lying islands and over 2,000 cays blessed with sunny skies, sandy beaches and shallow turquoise waters.

Here, the pace of life is slow and the style is relaxed. The islands are wonderfully unspoilt, consisting more of wilderness than developed resorts and harbours.

The Bahamas are located south east of Florida and north east of Cuba.

Set on a pristine white beach on Paradise Island, in beautifully manicured gardens, the luxury Bahamas One&Only Ocean Club is a stunning resort. Great watersports and fine cuisine make this the perfect beach front hideaway for families and couples alike.

On Harbour Island, we have the gorgeous Pink Sands hotel with its relaxed vibe, luxury cottages and sensational location on one of the world's most famous beaches.   All in all, the atmosphere at Pink Sands is very laid back, chic, friendly and exclusive.

For those that are seeking a luxury adult-only all-inclusive holiday, we are recommending Sandals Emerald Bay on the island of Great Exuma.

Other island options in the Caribbean

Also worth considering:  Mayan Riviera, Mexico  Whilst this is not technically a Caribbean destination, the sea along the Riviera is most definitely the Caribbean.

Sailing the Caribbean

We also have a fabulous selection of luxury yachts, catamarans and motor cruisers availabe for hire in the Caribbean, including the BVI and Barbados.  Please ask for details.

Weather & Seasons

Offering warm temperatures throughout the year the Caribbean is a perfect year round destination. With an average of 9 hours sunshine a day the peak season runs from December through to April which is the dry season when you can expect very little rainfall. May to November are the slightly wetter months where you will find an increase in rainfall as the summer season goes on and with that some humidity, however the Summer months are still a great time to travel as the temperatures are hot and the rain tends to come in short heavy bursts but not all day long.

The wettest months with the most humidity are September and October and these are the most probable months for hurricanes to occur in the region although many islands have not experienced hurricanes for a number of years. The average daily temperatures range from the mid-seventies in the winter months and mid-eighties in the summertime.
