In recent years, a number of fabulous spa hotels have opened throughout England.  We have visited them all and hand-picked the select few that we think are definitely worth a visit for a weekend or longer.

Of course, each one has its particular merits and we will be happy to advise on the perfect one for you, whether you’re looking for a romantic pampering break, a girlie weekend or tone up before a big event.

You can combine spa treatments and delicious healthy food with a variety of different activities or cultural excursions.  It’s really just a case of deciding which spa suits you best geographically or other reasons, and we’ll take care of organising everything for you.

Our experts know each spa very well, so can not only describe their individual benefits but can do so relative to all the other choices available.  Just let us know what you’re most interested in and when you’d like to go, and we will gladly talk you through the options.

If you're being budget conscious, we would recommend the Lifehouse Spa & Hotel in Essex.  It's comfortable and contemporary and 4 star.  Particularly good for mid week breaks.

If you would rather visit a spa where the sunshine is rather more guaranteed and you’re happy to jump on a short or a long haul flight, we can also advise you on the best spas around the world.

Weather and when to go

The winters are cold sitting around the 5°C mark with snow falling over much of the country more and more frequently, and then reaching into the twenties during the Summer. Spring and Autumn are spent in the mid-teens and can be the best time to visit as it is quiet, the countryside is green and at its best and days can be glorious, cool and sunny.
