Thanks to Mont Blanc, Megève enjoys a micro-climate and the perfect conditions for plentiful snow. There are 300km of marked trails and cross-country paths, as well as 81 lifts and two snow parks for budding snowboarders. The terrain is perhaps more suited to intermediate skiers and there's nothing too daunting for beginners while the centre of town has a rustic, medieval essence. It's also fabulously scenic and boasts many good restaurants serving superb French cuisine.
