Nepal is a landlocked Himalayan state that shares borders with Tibet to the north and northwest, and India to the west, south and east.
The greater part of the country lies on the southern slope of the Himalayas, extending down from the highest peaks through hill country to the upper edge of the Ganges Plain.
The best time of year to visit Nepal is autumn. In October and November the skies are clear, the weather is sunny and the views of the dramatic Himalayas crisp and beautiful. Spring, especally April and early May, is the next best option. Weather conditions are similar, but in Spring but the skies are more hazy, so the views sometimes less impressive.
