If you wish to combine a round or two of golf during your stay in the region, we would suggest staying on the Athens Riviera at The Margi.

The Margi is just 7km from Glyfada Golf Club (sometimes referred to as the Athens Golf Club). It's an 18 hole, Par 72 course, designed by Donald Harradine.

Glyfada opened in 1966 and has continually hosted such events as the World Cup Tournament in 1979, the Mediterranean Gamers in 1992, and for the past three years, the PGA Senior Greek Open.

The course is a green oasis of rolling hills, landscaped with mature trees and shrubbery.  In recent times, reviews of the course's grass consistency and general preparation have not always been favourable.  So, we would suggest, playing here is not the ultimate in golfing experiences - but still a fun afternoon out in an area otherwise bereft of golf courses.

For access to top quality golf, you may prefer to stay on the Peloponnese coast at the Westin or the Navarino for two superb championship golf courses designed by Bernhard Langer and Robert Trent Jones Jr.
