hiking in dolomite mountains

hiking dolomite mountains

You will experience some of the best hiking in the world in the Dolomites.  An alpine playground with endless green meadows nestled amongst enormous limestone peaks with charming rifugi (mountain huts) where you can indulge in a pit-stop at the top, re-fuelling with a strudel and energy-boosting cappuccino!

There are an infinite number of trails to choose from and lodges to stay at, so hikers can enjoy excursions of one or more days at varying levels of difficulty.  With spectacular scenery of valleys covered in wildflowers and marmots, and ice-blue glacial lakes you might dare to dip into, you can choose from short, flat walks to more challenging hikes with a guide, self-guided or if you prefer, on your own .

You definitely feel as if you are covering extensive ground and all the time, surrounding by unique and sepctacular scenery.  Hike for a morning, afternoon or enjoy a real adventure on a hut-to-hut hiking tour when you will stay in a mixture of charming hotels and rifugios with an expert guide.

For the ultimate in 5 star luxury in the mountains, we would recommend staying at Hotel Rosa Alpina in the charming village of San Cassiano.  If you would prefer somewhere less luxurious, see all our recommended places to stay
