hiking in northern iceland

hiking northern iceland

As with all parts of the island, there are stunning walks and hikes on offer in northern Iceland.

In the winter you will beed snow shoes (which we can provide) but in the summer a regular pair of hiking boots will do the job.  You can either strike out on your own or we can arrange guided hikes for you to such notable local sights as Godafoss Falls - a magical waterfall located some 50 km away from Akureyri. It's 12m high and 30m wide.

Godafoss is one of the largest waterfalls in Iceland and also one of its most beautiful. Its beauty can be admired all year round.

Our recommend place to hang your boots in northern Iceland is the Icelandair Hotel in Akureyri or Hotel Reykjahlid on Lake Myvatn, close to the Myvatn Thermal Baths.

Why not combine your stay in the north with some hiking in the south?  We can organise everything for you.
