riding england

Two of our featured spas in England have specialist equestrian facilities... and children can be happily left with the equestrian team to learn more horse skills while you enjoy some precious time on your own!

The Equestrian Centre at Lucknam Park is home to 35 horses of all sizes and capabilities, and caters for children and adults from complete beginners needing full training to advanced riders.

The full size all weather arena allows you to hone your riding skills in dressage and jumping, whilst the lunge arena is perfect for individual lessons.

More advanced horse riders can enjoy escorted hacks around the 500 acre estate or longer rides through the beautiful Wiltshire and Cotswold country side.

For the keen eventer or cross country enthusiast, there's a new cross country course built by Badminton course builders The Willis Brothers.  The jumps wind around the estate and offer both challenging jumps for the more experienced as well as smaller jumps for novices.  All use of the jumps must be under instruction only.

The Equestrian facilities and Coworth Park are also extremely impressive. Guests at Coworth Park can experience the thrill of horse riding, whatever their level or ambition in the saddle.  With beautifully bred, well trained and immaculately presented horses available for guests to ride across the 240 acre private estate, there is no end of opportunity to explore the beautiful Berkshire countryside on horseback.  For those wishing to improve their riding ability further, there's one-to-one or group lessons in basic riding, dressage and jumping on your own horses or on Coworth's selection of well trained schoolmaster horses and ponies.

For lessons on-site, Coworth has a teaching paddock, 20 x 60 m international dressage arena and an intermediate level show jumping course which can be altered to accommodate all levels of ability and confidence.

Coworth Park, the only UK hotel to feature its own polo fields, has a close affiliation with polo with the season running from April to September annually.  Coworth Park's facilities include stabling for 30 horses together with self-contained accommodation for grooms and a full programme of polo tournaments.

Guests staying at Coworth Park are able to make full use of the polo facilities and attend open polo fixtures.
