Yoga plays a central role in life at Vana, located in the lower foothills of the Himalayas in the Indian province of Uttarakhand.

Yoga is a Vedic system, the practice of which facilitates a union between mind and body to increase awareness and work towards spiritual enhancement.  Yoga focuses on self-improvement and attaining one’s full potential, leading to self-actualisation.

At Vana, yoga is practiced in a form that goes back to the roots of the science and includes body postures (aasans), meditation (dhyan), breath control (pranayam) and nutrition. Yoga’s immediate effects are to increase the body’s energy and its flow through the body, leading to a greater feeling of wellbeing.

At Vana, they don't follow a particular school of yoga but instead look at it in its undiluted root form.  Vana offers bespoke private sessions, as well as group sessions each day that are open to all our guests.
