This is a 5 night / 6 day Iceland Adventure encompassing the wild north of the island, glacier walking, and the world famous Golden Circle tour. You’ll get close to world-famous waterfalls, including Europe’s most powerful, relax in geothermal baths, try cross-country skiing or hiking as well as glacier walking, see natural hotsprings and bubbling geysers as well as visit Reykjavik. It’s an action packed and stunning few days immersed in incredible natural beauty.
Arrive in Iceland and take the fly bus to Reykjavík domestic airport. Fly to Akureyri (45 min). Transfer to Lake Mývatn area.
AM: Dettifoss waterfall, Europe’s most powerful waterfall – a breathtaking experience – followed by Lake Mývatn sightseeing. PM: Mývatn geothermal hot baths with beautiful view over Lake Mývatn. PM: Northern lights tour in the evening. Accommodation in Mývatn.
AM: Optional cross country skiing or hiking PM: Transfer to Akureyri, which is Akureyri located at the bottom of one of the longest fjords in Iceland, surrounded by mountains. PM: Fly to Reykjavík. Overnight in Reykjavík.
Day tour to Sólheimajökull glacier tongue. Enjoy a safe and easy glacier walk on crampons on to the ice field. Explore the ice sculptures, ridges, and deep crevasses. On the way back stop at the Skógafoss and Seljalandsfoss waterfalls. Accommodation Reykjavík.
Tour the Golden Circle to see three of Iceland’s highlights (Gullfoss waterfall, Geysir geothermal area and Thingvellir National Park) before heading to Fontana’s natural steam baths. Return to Reykjavík.
Leisure until departure to the airport. Fly bus departs every hour.
There are a number of accommodation options in Reykjavik as well as Lake Myvatn. The tour would be tailor-made and adjusted to include any hotels you particularly wanted to enjoy.
