Inspired by the #cookforukraine movement and their passion for food, we thought we’d start fundraising for Ukraine via our love for travel. By harnessing the generosity of our wonderful hotel partners and tapping into some yet-unspent holiday-budget, we thought we could try to raise a little more together for the DEC (Disasters Emergency Committee www.dec.org.uk). Together with Travel Tonic and supported by the Sunday Times we launched our campaign #travelforukraine in April 2022 with an online travel auction and it ran for 2 weeks. It’s so great to be travelling again, but it feels even greater if we can travel and help a cause at the same time. Take a holiday for Ukraine.
We, along with industry friends, gathered some wonderful prizes from some of our favourite hotels and destinations. We were amazed at their generosity and eagerness to join forces to raise funds. We were thrilled to raise nearly £80,000 which went straight to the DEC to help those in need.
