denis private island

7 nights from £3,515 denis private island seychelles

Denis Island is the epiomy of barefoot luxury and total escapism.  It's a magical example of the unique style of the Seychelles and boasts excellent eco credentials.

Deserted white sand beaches, no mobile phone access and no cars - it’s another world.  Conservation is a major focus of Denis Island and they pride themselves on the introduction to the island of endangered endemic bird species and is also home to some of the oldest Giant Tortoises in the Seychelles.

The 25 individual cottages are set on the beach facing out to the ocean.  All are spacious with a four poster bed and en-suite bathroom, which opens into a private courtyard with al fresco shower.  Continuing the no cars, no mobile phones theme, none of the cottages have TV’s, but all have their own private beachfront with sun loungers. Deluxe Beachfront Cottages are available at a supplement. There are also two villas which are larger and more private than the cottages – Villa Prince Noir “family villa” will accommodate two adults and up to three children and Villa Bois d’Argent which is the “honeymoon villa” gorgeously romantic and very private.

Facilities include an attractive restaurant, bar and lounge area, a library with the hotel’s only TV and internet access points, tennis courts and a small PADI licensed dive / fishing centre which also offers a selection of non-motorised water sports.

The island’s estate uses organic methods to meet the needs of the island’s guests and inhabitants - rearing poultry for meat and eggs, cattle for milk, vegetables, fruits and herbs grown in soil fertilized by sea grass; and fish caught in the fertile sea waters.  The natural oils extracted from the island’s coconut trees are used in the massage and wellness treatments and furniture is fashioned at the island’s workshop from the timber of fallen trees in the island’s forest; water is drawn and desalinated from underground wells and supplemented by rain catchment reservoirs.

Denis Private Island is located 95 kms north of Mahé and just a short half hour flight away.  Luggage allowance on this inter-island hop is 15 kgs.
