El Silencio Lodge & Spa is an eco-lodge set amongst 500 acres of private rainforest just over an hour from San Jose in Bajos del Toro offering gorgeous accommodation, picture-perfect panoramas, and a whole host of pampering and nature-based activities.
Sitting in its own reserve, in the region of Póas Volcano National Park, the Lodge consists of a clutch of very smart, first-class cabins scattered across verdant wooded hillsides. Each of the individual cabins is surrounded by lush foliage, providing plenty of privacy. The accommodation is roomy and beautifully furnished, and each cabin-suite has a comfy living area including minibar and gas fire, private terrace with river or cloud forest views, small outdoor Jacuzzi, and luxury bathroom. El Silencio – as the name suggests – is great for just relaxing…. but if you want to be active, there’s:
El Silencio has 16 suites with superb views of the cloud forest. Built with environmentally-friendly materials, each suite features a private whirlpool, a fireplace, a complimentary mini-bar, and upscale amenities. Suites do not have TV sets or WiFi and are best suited for adults.
El Silencio also has two bedroom villas that are ideal for families (up to 6 guests). The villas feature a master bedroom and a second bedroom with two full beds and each bedroom features an independent bathroom. The villas have a full kitchen plus dining area, private heated whirlpool and Wifi and satellite TV.
Minimum age for children here is 8.
12 hour international flight to San José. The lodge is a 90 minute transfer from the airport.
