palazzo avino

7 nights from £1,305 palazzo avino amalfi coast

Perched high on the cliffs 1,000 feet above the Mediterranean, Palazzo Avino (formerly Palazzo Sasso) makes the most of its sensational location with light and airy interiors and stunning views from almost every room.

Palazzo Avino was originally built as a private villa for an Italian noble family and still retains many of its original features.  If you can tear yourself away from relaxing by the pool and enjoying the views, the hotel offers cooking lessons as well as horse-riding, tennis and scuba diving. A boat trip along the coast or across to Capri is also highly recommended or you could head down to the hotel's private beach club to soak up the sun.  The beach club, which includes a small swimming pool and a casual restaurant, is located in the small town of Marmorata, a 15 minutes drive from Ravello. The hotel provides a complimentary shuttle service throughout the day.

Even the luxurious spa looks out across the cliffs to the sparkling Med below and offers a range of treatments as well as a hydro pool, Turkish bath and an al fresco fitness zone. If you would rather go walking or hiking than working out in the gym, the opportunities are legion.

The hotel also has two rooftop Jacuzzis, an outdoor heated swimming pool and panoramic sun terraces.

Palazzo Avino's two Michelin star restaurant provides some of the best scenery from the panoramic terrace and serves exquisite food created by executive chef Michele Deleo. The a la carte menu features Italian specialities paired with a handpicked regional wine list. Terrazza Belvedere provides a less formal option, serving an array of delicious snacks, small bites and fresh pasta dishes. There are also two terrace bars.
