westin resort costa navarino

7 nights half board from £1,010 westin resort costa navarino messinia

The Westin sits on a long sandy beach, with gorgeous views across the Ionian Sea, and is an exceptional destination for a family holiday. Voted by National Geographic as one of the best 20 locations in the world to visit.

The resort has an excellent variety of accommodation options and an incredible array of activities, sports, facilities and services to keep everyone, whatever their age, entertained. Children are kept happy for hours on end with the brilliant aqua park, adventure playground, child friendly swimming pools (several pools are specifically designed for kids with small fountains and, ideal for paddling, shallow pools with beach style entry) and even an interactive museum to learn about the local environment and history of the area.

There's lots for parents too!  Yoga and Pilates, water sports, racquet sports, fitness and golf.  The health club also has a schedule of complimentary daily health and fitness classes.  And, when you've had enough exercise, you can retire to the spa for some restorative pampering.

If you all want to do things together as a family, apart from playing on the beach or splashing around in the pool, you can go cycling, sailing, or ten pin bowling.  Or head off to the Agora - a traditional Greek meeting place in the heart of the resort, with its boutiques, open air cinema and a traditional Greek amphitheatre, plus several cafés, ice cream parlours, bars and restaurants.  Cuisine on offer includes classic Mediterranean fare, traditional Greek, Italian and even an American diner.  The other side of the Agora is the Westin's sister resort, The Romanos, which shares many of the facilities in this village style area.

This part of the Peloponnese is a wonderfully unspoilt part of Greece. The area is on the migratory route for many birds, and along with some stunning nature reserves, there is a wealth of ancient monuments, classical temples and ancient castles to explore.  The beach also happens to be a natural habitat for turtles where, at certain time of the year, they lay their eggs, so it is closed each day at 7pm for them to come out of the sea in safety.
