Cyprus – Europe’s eastern edge – embodies the true essence of the Mediterranean. Sleepy villages, classical amphitheatres and temples, haunting monasteries that cling to craggy cliff tops and ancient Byzantine buildings packed with precious icons and frescoes lure visitors thirsty for romance, history and adventure.
Known in ancient times as The Green Island, Cyprus remains the land of grapes and olives. It's also a botanist's dream, with the spring air thick with the scent of lemon blossom, and the ground – from the lush hills of the Akamas Peninsula to the remote cliffs of the Troodos Mountains – carpeted with wild flowers and herbs.

Towards the north-westerly tip of Cyprus, the island’s rolling hills and ancient vineyards give way to the wild, dramatic beauty of the Akamas Peninsula. Named after the mythical son of Theseus, Akamas is one of the most beautiful areas of Cyprus; with its fresh mountain springs and seasonal swathes of wild orchids and cyclamen, it comes as no surprise to learn that it was here that Aphrodite first set eyes on Adonis. The Anassa occupies a secluded spot on the edge of the proposed Akamas Nature Reserve, along a private stretch of coast in between the little town of Polis and the charming fishing village of Latchi.
On the south coast of Cyprus, Le Méridien Limassol Spa & Resort is renowned for its award-winning Le Spa, its excellent range of dining options, its extensive choice of classes and activities, children's facilities, and value for money. The hotel has over 300 well appointed guest rooms and suites, 8 restaurants, 5 bars, kids club and creche, land and water sports, a fabulous spa, PADI diving school, water slide, games rooms, fully equipped gym and indoor heated swimming pool.
Weather and seasons
Summer - If you're a sun worshipper then you won't be disappointed by the weather in Cyprus during the summer months. June to August there's around 13 hours of 32C sunshine, but in late July and early August temperatures can reach as high as 43C.
The high temperatures make the beaches perfect for sunbathing, and the sea is warm enough for all day swimming and watersports. In September and October the temperatures are still around the 30C mark and there's around 9 hours of sunshine per day.
Further inland the summer temperatures will be even higher and have been known to hit around 48C.
Winter - Cyprus is known as the island of sun and it's no different in the winter. December to February enjoys temperatures of around 18C and you will still have around 5 hours of sunshine per day. An April Easter break will see you topping up a tan with 8 hours of sunshine per day and temperatures hitting 24C.
