I thought my holiday would be good but I was unprepared for how brilliant I would feel by the end of the week evening standard
"Thank you all so very much for your energy, expertise and inspiration"
This is a highly professional destination spa set on a long stretch of sandy beach with excellent tailored health programmes and international visiting consultants.
The grounds are peppered with squares of lawn and huge banyan trees, and Thai-style accommodation includes rooms overlooking the sea and private inland pavilions. The beachside Taste of Siam restaurant serves delicious traditional thai food, while the main restaurant is the place to go for more western-style and detoxifying fusion foods.
Facilities are numerous and slickly organised. There’s a lovely, large outdoor pool with lots of loungers, an indoor pool for lengths next to a giant, traditionally-styled hammam and an array of exercise rooms. Male and female water suites have steam rooms, saunas and hot tubs, and Thai staff are always on hand to pass you whatever you need.
Whatever your health goal, there are results-focused themed retreats to help you reach it, from detox, de-stress and weight loss programmes to special weeks devised for insomniacs and people with chronic injuries or back pain. Personalised nutrition programmes are available, the complimentary exercise classes change daily and the spa treatment list is vast. For pampering, delicious signature facials and cocoons using their own naturally-derived products. If you’re so inclined, there’s even a large cosmetic-orientated medical centre.
Healthy Traveller Tip
Chiva Som excels at detoxing - their therapists are some of the best we’ve encountered for safe, properly supervised colonic irrigation and the Thai abdominal massage, Chi Nei Tsang.
