antigua caribbean

The temperature on Antigua ranges from the mid 70s to the high 80s throughout the year, with cooling sea breezes.  The island has a stunning, rugged coastline, dotted with hidden coves, beautiful coral reefs and 365 white sandy beaches.

Known as 'the gateway to the Caribbean', Antigua is the hub for the eastern Caribbean.  It's the largest of the Leeward Islands at 108 square miles (280 sq.km) with a population of 64,000.

There are numerous historic sites on the island and a wealth of sports and leisure activities.

Antigua has never been more accessible with direct daily flights from London with both British Airways and Virgin Atlantic.

We are recommending a choice of superb hotels:

  • Carlisle Bay (pictured above) is set in a sweeping bay on a ravishing beach.
  • St James Club is a great value family friendly all-inclusive.
  • Curtain Bluff is a fantastic all-inclusive luxury hotel on a magnificent private peninsula and two beaches.
  • Jumby Bay is one of the Caribbean's most exclusive resorts on a 300 acre private island just two miles north of Antigua (a seven minute boat ride).

Other island options in the Caribbean

Also worth considering:  Mayan Riviera, Mexico  Whilst this is not technically a Caribbean destination, the sea along the Riviera is most definitely the Caribbean.

Sailing the Caribbean

We also have a fabulous selection of luxury yachts, catamarans and motor cruisers availabe for hire in the Caribbean, including the BVI and Barbados.  Please ask for details.
