carlisle bay

7 nights from £2,435 carlisle bay antigua

Situated in one of Antigua's most beautiful settings, Carlisle Bay has a backdrop of rolling hills, lush tropical rainforest and lagoon, and positioned on one of the islands best beaches on the unspoilt south coast.  It's a sophisticated and contemporary beachfront resort, yet relaxed and informal, ideal for families.

This family friendly resort features a wonderful children's programme at the aptly named 'Cool Kids Club', fully equipped to ensure your youngest children are entertained throughout the day.  Kids aged seven to twelve years are entertained with the Crew Blue.  In the school summer holidays, Crush is an action packed teenage programme.  See details for further info about children's entertainment at Carlisle Bay.

For the grown ups who are feeling energetic and adventurous, you can explore the sheltered bay by kayak (or venture into the mangroves behind the resort) or  windsurfer or enjoy some snorkelling.  If you're a keen tennis player, play with friends or hit with a pro on one of the nine tennis courts.  For golf enthusiasts, there are two 18 hole golf courses nearby.

A PADI scuba diving centre is on-site and diving excursions can be arranged for qualified divers or you can train to become a certified diver whilst staying at the resort.

If all those choices don't provide you with enough exercise, head for a workout in the gym.  Alternatively, if you think it's time to relax and rejuvenate, the Blue Spa at Carlisle Bay includes six luxurious treatment rooms, one dedicated wet room, a couples treatment room, sauna, plunge pools, and an all-important relaxation zone.

Carlisle Bay Antigua comprises 82 spacious and contemporary suites, offering cool calm interiors, bespoke dark wood furniture and white linens, all featuring a private terrace or balcony with either garden or ocean views. The Garden and Ocean Suites are spacious with split level bedroom and living room.  The Beach Balcony and Beach Terrace Suites are spacious beachfront suites and the perfect choice for families, with a second twin bedroom accommodating up to two adults and two children.

The resort has two exceptional restaurants, the beachfront restaurant offers healthy grills, seafood and salads throughout the day and evening, and has gorgeous views across the beach and bay. The Asian inspired East Restaurant offers an eclectic mix of Japanese, Thai, Indian and Vietnamese food in a dramatic and intimate setting.  For the ultimate romantic dining experience, enjoy dinner a deux at the end of the resort's private jetty.

Carlisle Bay is a member of the Leading Small Hotels of The World and sister hotel to the award-winning One Aldwych in London.   Annual closure between 25 August - 12 October 2012.
