Adjacent to the United Arab Emirates and facing the Arabian Gulf, Oman is a jewel of a destination, accessible via Dubai International Airport. It's an excellent destination for some sun during Europe's winter months.
Oman, a diverse land of golden sandy beaches, rugged mountains and magnificent desert expanses, nestles along an impressive coastline fringed by the stunning waters of the Indian Ocean.
The second largest country in the Arabian Peninsula, Oman is rapidly emerging as a popular holiday destination - particularly for those seeking winter sun as the temperature averages between 25c to 35c from October to April.
We recommend staying at the all-villa luxury resort of Zighy Bay - it's located in a secluded bay on Oman’s Musandam Peninsula, hidden behind a range of dramatic mountains and set on a splendid 1.6km sandy beach. It's an ideal place to get away to relax, recover and have time to think and recharge!
Alternatively, The Chedi which successfully combines the contemporary and the exotic, with cloisters, gardens, archways and clusters of low-hanging lanterns, and the stylish, tranquil bedrooms decorated in muted desert shades.

Weather and when to go
The best time to visit Oman is between November and early April, when the cooler air brings the mountain scenery sharply into focus and daytime temperatures average 27°C. For the rest of the year, much of Oman is hot and hazy, particularly between May and August when 40°C is not unheard of.
