I thought my holiday would be good but I was unprepared for how brilliant I would feel by the end of the week evening standard
"Thank you all so very much for your energy, expertise and inspiration"
Tuscany is one of the many jewels that Italy has to offer. Gorgeous summer climate, stunning scenery and ancient culture - and three fabulous places to stay, all with excellent spas.
We recommend Adler-Thermae which is a smart, traditional Italian spa resort with its own bubbling springs. Not far away, but several notches up in terms of luxury, is the Castiglion del Bosco - possibly the finest residential, spa and sporting experience in the country.
Castiglion del Bosco has the advantage of a selection of fully serviced private houses, all beautifully designed and offering every modern amenity. This property also offers broader attractions as it is not, in the strictest sense, a spa resort - it just happens to have a brilliant little Danielle Steiner Spa in addition to everything else.
The third option is the gorgeous Castel Monastero, 15 miles from Siena. A beautifully renovated 11th century village that now houses a luxurious 74 bedroom hotel, with an exceptional spa (including 3 and 7 day wellness programmes overseen by the famous Dr Ali).
Whichever you choose to visit, we recommend making time to explore the local towns and hilltop villages in order to discover the magic of Tuscany. We can. of course, recommend all the best options nearby.

You might also like to consider nearby Croatia for a sailing holiday in one of our luxury fully crewed and catered gulets. We also have a selection of spa hotels and villas.
Weather and when to go
Tuscany is warming up as early as April when it is touching 19°C. The area enjoys long warm Summers, heating up between June and August reaching into the 30s. September and October are still enjoying temperatures in the late teens and twenties when warm coats are beginning to make their appearances on British streets.
