I thought my holiday would be good but I was unprepared for how brilliant I would feel by the end of the week evening standard
The stunning Six Senses Yao Noi is located on the Island of Yao Noi, half way between Phuket and Krabi, among the awe-inspiring limestone pinnacles of Phang Nga and surrounded by dazzling azur and turquiose seas.
There's a magnificent collecton of one and two bedroom villas and suites. All are beautifully crafted with open style bathrooms, creating an atmosphere of space and light and jaw dropping views of the bay and the islands beyond. Each villa has its own infinity pool and sundeck, creating the wonderful illusion of connection between pool and bay, and reinforcing the feeling of seclusion.
When you want to take a break from relaxing beside your private pool, you can treat yourself to one of the many treatments available in the spa, or, if you're feeling more active and adventurous, there's a huge amount of activities to keep you entertained. On the sea you you can go sailing, kayaking water skiing or fishing, or in it, you can go snorkelling or scuba diving. The water is generally pretty clear so perfect for both.
Alternatively, on land, you can go biking or walking, play tennis or join a yoga or Tai Chi class. Even head in to the kitchen for a Thai cookery lesson. All in all, there's loads to do for both adults and families. There's even a baby sitting service when you want to head out and about and leave the little ones at home. No doubt they will be delighted by free ice creams all day!

Restaurants, bars and lounges
The Main House: Guests experience a refreshing sense of calm as they enter across the arrival pool, with two sunken bars and seating areas. Several pathways lead off from here. One leads to The Den, with a library to the left and a bar to the right. The library features a glassed-in duplex wine cellar with suspended ladders to access wines on the upper level. The open-plan bar is also on two levels, with several sub-levels creating a more intimate
feeling. The bar offers Asian tapas with a selection of specialty regional dishes. A second pathway leads down to the dining areas...
The Living Room and Terrace: Close to the beach, this all-day dining choice offers alfresco or undercover seating. The Living Room is constructed from traditional material such as wooden panelled flooring, coconut palm columns and classic thatching overhead. Offering tempting buffets at breakfast and on special dinner nights, it also showcases a deli and patisserie, into which guests are invited to wander in and help themselves. The Living Room offers world cuisine during the day and specializes in Thai Cuisine for the evenings. The atmosphere is very relaxed, with large comfortable seating areas offering booths as well as romantic dining on the extended terrace. There are also several outdoor dining pavilions.
The dining room: A central split-level structure features a Chef’s Table on the top level, plus a cooking station with one long table surrounding it. The main dining area is on the lower level, with several private dining pavilions located in the wild mangroves and plantation palms. A tranquil water feature meanders through this area over a glass bottom floor – while organic vegetable and herb gardens are close at hand for the freshest salads and to complement the Italian cuisine.
In-villa dining: Private in-villa or terrace dining compliments the secluded peaceful atmosphere. For the true romantic, the villa butler will arrange for a champagne breakfast, a private picnic or an evening barbecue beneath the stars, with a personal chef and waiter at the ready.
